Paragliding with Kids
If your kids are adventurous and looking to try tandem paragliding in Oludeniz, we have a few details for you. We recently went to Kas with our kids and my sister’s family. We took a day trip to Oludeniz and 5 of 8 of us flew. The kids that paraglided were 10 years and 14 years old and did great. They were a little scared before take-off but said it was the most amazing experience they’ve ever had. Ultimately, they felt safe and comfortable with their pilots and landing was a breeze.
Age Limits for Paragliding
Next, age limits depend on the company you are flying with – we talked to some companies that had minimum age limits of 12 and some that had experience flying with kids as young as 6 years old. The company we flew with would have let our 7 and 9-year-old fly, but we chose not to as they didn’t have proper shoes and I wasn’t ready!
If you’re kids or teens are going to paraglide, make sure they have the proper clothing and shoes to have a comfortable and safe flight. More on what to wear coming up!

The great thing about paragliding in Oludeniz is the weather conditions are ideal year-round. Ultimately, you can fly anytime but our recommendations are to fly between April and October when the weather is warmer. If you fly in the off-season, it will be colder, especially while flying so be sure to wear the appropriate clothes. Be sure to book in advance.
Paragliding at Oludeniz, Turkey
After completing safety training, everyone loaded up in the company van and headed up to the top of Babadag mountain (Father Mountain). At the top of the mountain is the take-off area – a nice, paved take-off strip. Once you’ve completed your pre-flight check and pre-launch observation, get ready to take off.
To take off you and your pilot will run together down the take-off strip as fast as you can. You continue running as you lift off and then you will sit back in your seat harness.
After takeoff, you’ll be able to sit back and enjoy the majestic views of the Mediterranean coast along with the other paragliders in the air too. Your flight will be around 25 minutes but depending on the weather conditions could bring you down faster or leave flying a bit longer. All things considered, our family fliers’ time in the air ranged from 20 – 45 minutes when we flew in the summertime.
Paragliding Videos
Each flight included a GoPro attached to the gear that captured a video of your entire flight. You can see great views of the sea and Oludeniz Beach below as well as you fly through the sky with the views in the background. You can purchase the video and images after your flight. They will download all the files straight to your phone. A great souvenir to take home with you!
Paragliding Landing
As you are coming in for landing there is the main strip along the beach where all the paragliders come into land. When you’re coming in there are other team members that are there to assist with landing safely. We all had a light touchdown to the ground and along with celebrations and big smiles.
